[ENVIRONMENT]CCNC works to protect and enhance North Carolina’s natural environment. This means we get involved on numerous issues, from the state level to the national level, both as the need arises, and proactively.

Over the years, we have taken an active role in a broad range of issues: air quality, water quality, sprawl and smart growth, transportation, land conservation and open space, hog waste, nuclear and hazardous waste, and more.

CCNC works with state agencies and before state commissions, advocates at the General Assembly, works collaboratively with state, local, and national environmental organizations, works with local citizens to help get them involved in the policy-making process, and works to make the environment a priority for decision-makers and the public.
