About Us

moth

Conservation Council of NC Foundation (CCNCF) knows that protecting North Carolina’s environment starts with North Carolinians…

CCNCF is dedicated to building the capacity of North Carolina’s environmental community to advance sound environmental policies.  CCNCF fosters cooperation among environmental groups by arming them with the tools to inform and mobilize their members as a more potent force in North Carolina’s political landscape through non-partisan civic engagement work.  We support more strategic direct advocacy efforts at the General Assembly through the NC Common Agenda: Priorities for the Environment.  We work to educate and engage state agencies, elected officials, and the public on key environmental issues.  We mobilize North Carolina voters because we know that voting is one of the most important things we can do for the environment.

Our mission:

Conservation Council of North Carolina Foundation is protecting, preserving, and enhancing the quality of life for North Carolina citizens:

    • We work with other environmental groups to set a Common Agenda: Priorities for the Environment, and advocate for these priorities at the State Legislature,
    • We work with the government to ensure environmentally sound rulemaking, and strong enforcement of existing laws,
    • We provide environmental groups with tools and technology to educate and activate their members effectively,
    • We mobilize citizens to participate in the democratic process and to elevate the importance of environmental issues in the electoral process.

Our structure:

Conservation Council of NC Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.  The organization is governed by its own board of directors, and the work is carried out by staff shared with our sister organization, the Conservation Council of NC.

Together, CCNC Foundation, and our sister organization, CCNC, work to turn environmental values into North Carolina priorities by encouraging citizens, voters, and decision-makers to prioritize clean air, safe water, public health, and protection of our North Carolina landscapes—from the mountains to the sea…
